Out of 4 Opposition Candidates, Only One Supported by the ruling party

During the election of the chairpersons of 12 permanent committees in the National Assembly, the ruling Civil Contract faction voted in favor of only one candidate from the opposition - Lilit Galstyan, nominated by the Armenia faction for the position of Chair of the Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs.

The ruling faction did not support any of the other opposition candidates.

The Strong Armenia faction nominated Arega Hovsepyan for the position of Chair of the Standing Committee on European Integration, but he was not elected. The same faction also nominated Davit Ghazinyan for the position of Chair of the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration and Environment Protection, and Hayk Farmanyan for the position of Chair of the Standing Committee on Financial and Budgetary Affairs. However, Arega Hovsepyan, Davit Ghazinyan, and Hayk Farmanyan were not elected either.

Thus, among the opposition candidates presented, only Lilit Galstyan received support from the Civil Contract faction.
