Prosecutor's Office Sues to Recover Approximately 385 Million AMD from Armen Ashotyann
The Anti-Corruption Court has accepted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office seeking the confiscation of property of illegal origin from former Minister of Education and Science, former MP, and Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyann, and individuals associated with him.
The Prosecutor's Office demands the confiscation of the rights to purchase three immovable properties. One of these properties is located in the Kentron administrative district, while the other two are townhouses under construction in the Avan administrative district.
Additionally, the office is seeking the recovery of approximately 47 million AMD as illegal income and remnants of funds.
Another 338,366,000 AMD, according to the Prosecutor's Office, is not substantiated by legal income and has illegal origins. It is noted that this amount was transferred between 2005 and 2026 and cannot currently be identified for confiscation.
In total, the financial claim amounts to around 385 million AMD. It should be noted that this is a claim made by the Prosecutor's Office, and the issue of illegal origin and confiscation of property is yet to be examined in court.
