Death Toll Rises to 5 from Russian Attack on Kyiv, 23 Injured
During the night of August 20, five people were killed and 23 others were injured as a result of a Russian attack on Kyiv. This was reported by Kyiv's Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the Kyiv City Military Administration.
As of 03:20, the aftermath of the attack was recorded in over 12 locations across the city’s Darnytskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Solomianskyi districts. Residential buildings, medical facilities, and educational institutions were damaged. Large fires have broken out in storage areas. Emergency services continue to work on eliminating the consequences of the attack.
Earlier reports indicated three fatalities and 20 injuries. According to Ukrainian sources, Russian forces also launched ballistic missiles towards Kyiv during the night of August 20. Explosions were heard in the city, damaging buildings and a children's hospital, while fires have erupted in various areas.
