Simonyan to Pay Fine of Farmer Who Fired at Ukrainian Drone
The chief editor of RT, Margarita Simonyan, has announced that she will pay the fine imposed on a farmer from the Volgograd region who attempted to shoot down a Ukrainian drone with a hunting rifle.
The farmer in question is 66-year-old Nikolai Mukhinin. According to RT, the man was fined 40,000 rubles, and his rifle was confiscated after he fired at a drone flying over his home. The farmer intends to appeal the court decision.
Simonyan has called on responsible authorities to develop guidelines for citizens' actions in such situations. “We don’t have rules for what to do in these circumstances. So we need to develop them. Let’s correct this. Meanwhile, I will pay this farmer's fine,” she wrote on Telegram.
On August 19, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian air defense systems had destroyed 438 drones belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the day.
