The Government to Allocate 425 Million Drams for the Purchase of Figs and Peaches
The government has decided to allocate 425 million drams for the purchase of figs and peaches. Compensation will be provided for the purchase of up to 400 tons of figs from the Syunik region for processing, at a rate of 125 drams per kilogram.
Similarly, compensation will also be provided at the same rate of 125 drams per kilogram for the purchase of up to 3,000 tons of peaches from across Armenia.
It is worth noting that just a few days ago, peach farmers in the Armavir region staged a protest, expressing dissatisfaction with the purchase prices. They reported that peaches are being bought from them at 100 drams per kilogram, which, according to the farmers, is below the cost price.
