Election of Presidents for 12 Permanent Committees Starts in the National Assembly
The National Assembly is currently holding a secret vote for the election of presidents of 12 permanent committees, which will last for 2 hours.
Eight of the committee presidential positions have been allocated to the ruling "Civil Contract" faction, 3 to "Strong Armenia," and 1 to the "Armenia" faction.
The Civil Contract faction has also received the right to nominate 7 committee vice-presidents, "Strong Armenia" has the right to propose 4, while "Armenia" can nominate 1 vice-president.
The election of opposition candidates also depends on the votes of the parliamentary majority, namely the Civil Contract party. If the opposition candidates are not elected, the factions will need to propose new candidates.
