Trump Announces Start of 'Economic War' Against Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the initiation of a powerful economic pressure campaign against Iran, stating that Tehran has missed the opportunity to reach an agreement with the United States on contentious issues.

“No one has given Iran more chances to make a deal than I have. Unfortunately for them, they did not take advantage of that opportunity. Therefore, today I am announcing the most powerful economic actions ever taken against any country. This will be an economic war and isolation on an unprecedented scale,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

According to the U.S. President, Iran is already in a difficult situation, including economic problems. Trump stated that the new measures should limit Iran's capabilities and prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons. He also emphasized that Washington needs the support of allies in the effort to isolate Iran economically.
