Berezovsky: 'I Believe the Armenian Club Will Play in the Champions League Group Stage for the First Time'

Former goalkeeper of the Armenian national team Roman Berezovsky believes that 'Ararat-Armenia' could achieve a historic result in the Champions League. He commented on the victory of the Armenian team against Slovenian team Celje.

On August 4, at the Republican Stadium in Yerevan, 'Ararat-Armenia' won with a score of 2:1. According to Berezovsky, that victory was an important step, but the return match will be very difficult.

'I think the Yerevan team is capable of advancing to the qualifying playoff stage and winning against both 'Mylbyu' and 'Slovan'. I believe that soon the Armenian club will participate in the Champions League group stage for the first time,' he said.

If 'Ararat-Armenia' reaches the group stage, it will mark the first time an Armenian club has taken part in the main tournament of the Champions League.
