Israel Not Planning to Withdraw from Southern Syria, Defense Minister Says

Israel is not planning to withdraw from the buffer zone established in southern Syria. This was stated by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz.

He specifically noted, "We will not leave the area of Mount Hermon and the adjacent security zone as long as the threat from jihadists to the state of Israel remains." Katz also emphasized that Israel will continue to obstruct attempts by Turkey to strengthen its position within Syria, as these pose a threat to Israel's security interests.
