122 Packages of Drugs Discovered; 27-Year-Old Arrested

Officers from the Criminal Police of the Aragatsotn Regional Department received operational information that a 27-year-old resident of Ejmiadzin was placing drugs in various locations in the city of Ashtarak for the purpose of sale. This was reported by the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Further actions yielded results on August 18. At around 19:30, the young man was arrested while placing drugs on the road leading to Nor Yerznka, and he was taken to the department along with the vehicle he was driving. The vehicle was sealed in a designated secure area.

During the search conducted at the arrest location within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings, 9 packages weighing about 30 grams in total were discovered. Following a court order, a search of the vehicle driven by the young man uncovered 113 packages sealed with different tapes, totaling approximately 200 grams, as well as a syringe with ash residue, one and a half million drams, and a pistol, which the young man claimed was a gas gun.

The 27-year-old from Ejmiadzin has been arrested. The circumstances are being clarified.
