Legendary Singer Dolly Parton Has Died

American singer, songwriter, and country music legend Dolly Parton has passed away at the age of 81. Her cousin, Brian Sivert, shared the news.

According to Sivert, Dolly Parton had requested him to announce her death many years ago. In September 2025, Parton canceled her concert due to illness, and in May 2026, another concert in Las Vegas was also canceled.

On August 21, Parton provided an update on her health, noting that her condition had worsened since March 2020, following the death of her husband, Carl Dean. “I am facing some health issues that I simply neglected while taking care of Carl. You know, this isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with something like this. In the early '80s, I suffered from women's ailments for several months while simultaneously battling my weight, so it's not like I haven't had health issues,” she said. However, she assured fans that she was recovering and continued to work.
