Historic Victory: Ararat-Armenia Wins for the First Time in Champions League Qualification Third Round
In the first match of the third qualifying round of the Champions League 2026/27 season, Armenia's reigning champion Ararat-Armenia secured a victory over Slovenia's champions Celje with a score of 2:1.
During the match held at the Republican Stadium named after Vazgen Sargsyan, the visitors opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a penalty converted by Svit Seslar.
In the 38th minute of the first half, Armenian national team midfielder Arthur Serobyan equalized with a long-range free-kick.
In the second half, Ararat-Armenia managed to take the lead. In the 70th minute, Carlos França scored, finalizing the match score at 2:1.
This victory is historic for Armenian club football, as until now, no Armenian club had managed to win in the third round of Champions League qualification.
