Trump Begins War Against Iran Ignoring Warnings: WSJ
U.S. President Donald Trump has initiated a war against Iran despite numerous warnings from intelligence services and military personnel. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
At the time, the then-Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, cautioned that the assassination of Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, could lead to a more hardline regime seizing power, potentially seeking nuclear weapons. According to her assessment, this could also result in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and attacks against U.S. troops and allies.
Vice President Jay D. Vance suggested allocating more time for diplomatic efforts. Senior military officials also warned of potential casualties among U.S. service members, a decrease in ammunition supplies, and increased strain on military readiness.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several high-ranking advisers to Trump argued that Iran is in its most vulnerable position in decades. Despite the warnings issued, Trump decided to proceed with military operations against Iran.
The conflict, initially seen as a means to achieve rapid objectives, has now persisted for approximately six months, resulting in severe military and economic consequences.
