Ukrainian Armed Forces Gradually Encircle Russian Forces in Bakhmut: ISW

According to reports, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are gradually managing to encircle Russian forces around Bakhmut, writes the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

“In recent days, both Ukrainian and Russian sources have reported that Ukraine is reinforcing its positions in the Bakhmut area and its southwest flanks, including terrain that could provide Ukrainian forces with a fire advantage,” ISW analysts note.

This direction of the Ukrainian counter-offensive could indeed threaten Russian control over Bakhmut, although it is still too early to predict the city’s liberation, the report emphasizes.
