The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that the premiere of the film 'Monte' is set for November 25. The film tells the story of Monte Melkonyan, a national hero of Armenia, a hero of Artsakh, and one of the commanders in the first Artsakh War.

The project's author and lead producer, Nono Sargsyan, who is the daughter of Armen Sargsyan (brother of Vazgen Sargsyan), indicated that gaining the consent of the hero's wife, Seda, and brother, Margar, was of utmost importance before filming could commence. Her previous film was dedicated to Vazgen Sargsyan.

We have learned that just days before filming was scheduled to begin, the Ministry of Defense unexpectedly withdrew its support for the film's production, stating that war scenes should not be filmed, leaving the production team in a difficult position.

One of the crew members told us that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, as well as the Yerevan City Hall, had financed the movie's production; however, the Ministry of Defense declared that if any war scenes were to be filmed, no financial support would be provided, despite prior agreements to assist.
