US Refuses New Strikes Against Iran: Axios
Washington has declined to launch new strikes against Iran, according to Axios.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has informed several foreign partners that at this time the US does not plan to carry out new attacks on Iran.
Instead, the Trump administration is focused on other forms of pressure, including naval blockades and a recently announced campaign of sanctions.
Rubio stated that Washington is not preparing to resume large-scale military operations; however, strikes against Iran could still be carried out if Iran attacks first.
This policy is expected to remain in place at least until the midterm elections in the US, after which the possibility of a new military campaign may be reconsidered.
