Criminal Proceedings Initiated Following Crane Incident in Nor Hachn; Two Arrested

On August 18 in Nor Hachn, criminal proceedings have been initiated following an incident in which a construction crane's basket fell during construction work. Two individuals have been arrested, according to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

The proceedings have been initiated under Article 355 of the Criminal Code for violating safety or protective regulations during construction, mining, or other work, which negligently resulted in the death of a person.

According to NEWS.am, the incident occurred at 14:44, when the regional operational management center in Kotayk received a call reporting that the crane had detached and fallen, leaving a citizen trapped underneath.

As a result of the incident, two people lost their lives, and one person suffered injuries. Rescuers determined that the crane's cable had snapped while lifting the basket, causing it to fall.
