According to 'Jhayrum' newspaper sources, the ruling circles are finding it quite difficult to accept the decision of the 'Strong Armenia' faction to take over the presidency of the National Assembly's European Integration Standing Committee.

Insider sources suggest that within the government, there is skepticism about the ability of 'Strong Armenia' to effectively lead the European integration committee, taking into account the faction's political positions. Many representatives of the ruling party express doubts about the faction's approach to European integration, describing them as more pro-Russian than pro-European.

However, the most problematic issue for the government has been the candidacy of Arega Hovsepyan, proposed by 'Strong Armenia' for the committee's presidency. Since the beginning of Parliament's work, Hovsepyan's sharp questions and tough speeches directed towards the government have already drawn attention.

According to reports, discussions are ongoing within the government regarding both the candidate for the committee's presidency and the handover of the committee's leadership to 'Strong Armenia'. This indicates that there is still no final decision on how the ruling majority will vote.

While the government is essentially ready to accept the leadership of standing committees on financial-credit and budgetary issues, as well as territorial administration and infrastructure, the situation is different for the European integration committee.

Sources indicate that the government does not intend to easily relinquish the presidency of this committee and is exploring possible options to keep it under their control. Whether a final decision will be made and whether the ruling majority will try to put forward another candidate is still under discussion. However, one thing is clear: the government is not yet prepared to reach a final agreement on handing over the leadership of the European integration committee to 'Strong Armenia'.
