Russia Awaits Sanitary Inspection Report from Armenia: Rosselkhoznadzor
Russia expects Armenia to present the results of the investigation into the identified sanitary violations and the plan for their rectification. This was reported by Rosselkhoznadzor to Izvestia.
“Rosselkhoznadzor anticipates results from the investigation and information on the measures taken by the Armenian side, as well as the algorithm of actions proposed by the Armenian side regarding compliance with EAEU veterinary and phytosanitary requirements,” the agency stated in response to a question regarding potential timelines for the easing or lifting of restrictions.
Earlier, due to identified violations, the Russian side had restricted the import of several Armenian products ranging from mineral water and alcoholic beverages to vegetables, fruits, and dairy products.
On August 13, during a meeting with Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut stated that ensuring the safety of Armenian agricultural products is a crucial condition for the restoration of supplies to Russia.
It was noted that this specifically pertains to compliance with mandatory requirements regarding the use of domestic raw materials by producers, control over pesticides, traceability of supplies, and other key aspects.
