Mother Assaulted and Thrown to the Ground, Daughter Abducted: No News for 3 Days
The newspaper Hraparak reports that an 18-year-old girl was abducted three days ago in the village of Verin Dvin. A relative of the girl, who wished to remain anonymous, told us that the incident occurred in front of the girl's mother.
“We know the abductor; he is a 36-year-old man from the same village and was with four of his friends. At the time of the incident, the girl was with her mother, and they resisted. They started hitting them, threw the mother to the ground, and took the girl away,” she said.
When asked if the girl had any previous connection with the man, our interlocutor replied, “They had no connection; this man saw the girl for the first time several months ago, and they have not communicated. The girl even has a boyfriend. The parents have contacted the police, and there has been no response for three days. The individuals involved in the abduction are freely roaming the village.”
In response to our inquiry, the National Police stated, “A report of abduction was received on August 16 at the community police division in Artashat. The compiled documents have been forwarded to the Ararat regional investigative department.”
