Crime Rates Decrease in Armenia: Statistics for the First 6 Months of 2026
During the first six months of 2026, the number of recorded crimes in Armenia has decreased by 65 cases or 0.3 percent compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the Acting Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Chief of Police Kamo Tsutulyan.
According to Tsutulyan, a total of 22,025 crimes were recorded in the first six months of 2025, while in the same period of 2026, there were 21,960 cases. Notably, the number of crimes against property and individuals has decreased. Additionally, the share of serious and particularly serious crimes has also diminished, with their share in the overall crime statistics decreasing by 1.9 percent.
According to the provided data, 88.2 percent of the recorded crimes are classified as minor and medium severity cases, while 11.8 percent are serious and particularly serious crimes.
