All 55 UEFA Member Football Associations Unanimously Support Possible World Cup Boycott

All 55 national football associations that are members of UEFA have unanimously supported a boycott of the World Cup if FIFA sells its stake in the tournament's commercial entity to private investors. This was reported by The Times.

During an extraordinary online meeting led by UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, national federations discussed the possibility of boycotting FIFA tournaments if FIFA President Gianni Infantino continues with his plans. European football federations oppose the initiative to sell part of the hosting rights for World Cups to private companies, believing that the success of World Cups heavily relies on the participation of European teams.

FIFA needs the support of the majority of its 211 national football associations to implement the plan. Earlier, The Telegraph reported that Infantino is considering transferring the management of the World Cup to a separate company and selling 20-30% of its shares to private investors.
