The Number of Migrants in the EU Reaches Record Levels

The number of migrants in the EU has reached a historical high of 64.2 million in 2025, marking an increase of 2.1 million compared to the previous year. The situation has significantly changed since 2010, when around 40 million people of foreign origin resided in EU member states.

Currently, the largest concentration of migrants is observed in Germany, with their number approaching 18 million. However, Spain leads in growth rates, with an increase of nearly 700,000 foreign-born residents, totaling approximately 9.5 million. High proportions of migrants are also noted in Cyprus, Malta, and Luxembourg.
