Police Denies Reports of Officers Voluntarily Resigning
The Police of the Republic of Armenia has issued a statement: “Recently, information has been circulated in media outlets, on social networks, and by political figures, claiming that numerous police officers have submitted reports of resignation in recent days. Specifically, the names of three officers have been mentioned.
In this regard, we would like to clarify that police officers Khachik Tovmasyan and Narek Harutyunyan have not submitted any resignation reports to the police. They continue to serve as police officers, while Benik Arzumanyan resigned from the police service on May 12, based on his report submitted on April 7.
It is important to emphasize that there were no political events occurring in the republic on April 7. The police force is an apolitical entity, with the primary goals of ensuring public safety and combating crime. We urge everyone to refrain from dragging the police into political processes.”
