Thousands of Vehicles in Line: Azerbaijan and Georgia Make a Decision
Baku and Tbilisi are planning to take measures to speed up the border crossing process amid the accumulation of freight vehicles. This was reported by the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
In this regard, negotiations have taken place between the customs services of the two countries. Both parties intend to take necessary measures to eliminate the congestion and organize the border crossing process more efficiently.
At the same time, Azerbaijan's Land Transport Agency has reported that there are currently 1,030 vehicles in line at the 'Red Bridge' customs checkpoint on the Azerbaijan-Georgia border. According to data on freight vehicles in line at customs-border checkpoints, there are 47 vehicles waiting at the 'Samur' customs checkpoint on the Azerbaijan-Russia border, and 37 at the 'Astara' checkpoint on the Azerbaijan-Iran border. Currently, there are no vehicles waiting at the 'Khanoba', 'Mazimgara', and 'Bilasuvar' customs checkpoints.
