Russia Opposes Freezing the Conflict in Ukraine Along Current Front Lines
Russia rules out the possibility of freezing the conflict in Ukraine along the current line of combat. This was stated by Yuri Ushakov, the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.
"You know our position; it excludes this," Ushakov said in a comment to the Vesti information system.
The Russian side has previously stated multiple times that halting military operations along the current front line is not considered a viable option for resolution. Moscow has also indicated that one of the conditions for ending the conflict is the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from territories that Russia considers its own.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation had also earlier announced its opposition to stopping combat operations along the line of contact, according to Kommersant.
