Turkey’s Foreign Ministry Strongly Condemns Israeli Strikes on Military Base in Syria
The Turkish Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the Israeli strikes on the Abu Dhuhur military airbase located in Syria's Idlib province and called on the international community to respond to Israel's actions.
“We strongly condemn the airstrikes conducted by Israel on the Abu Dhuhur military airbase, situated in the rural area of Idlib province this morning. Israel continues its reckless attacks, targeting Syria's infrastructure and violating its territorial integrity and unity,” stated the Turkish Foreign Ministry in a statement.
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the international community to adopt a more decisive stance to cease the escalation of Israeli actions against Syria. Ankara has also called for holding Israel accountable for actions that, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, disregard international law.
Earlier, Syria TV reported, citing its source, that Israeli air forces struck several targets in the Abu Dhuhur airport located in northwestern Syria's Idlib province. According to the source, material damage was inflicted as a result of the strikes, but no reports have emerged regarding casualties among the civilian population. According to Reuters, the targets of the strikes included the airport's runway and storage areas.
