We Will Not Face Issues with Tomato Procurement This Year, Gevorg Papoyan
The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, visited the ‘Artashat Canning Factory’ today to monitor the tomato procurement process on-site. Accompanying him were Ararat regional governor Sedrak Tevonyan and Artashat community leader Karlən Mkrtchyan.
The ministry reports that, accompanied by the factory's general director Vachagan Karapetyan, the minister toured the company, acquainted himself with the progress of production activities, and observed the procurement process.
The company assured the minister that they are ready to procure as much tomato as the residents can supply. The procurement price has been set at 40-80 drams.
“We will not face issues with tomato procurement this year. We will continue to monitor the procurement process on a daily basis,” stated Minister Gevorg Papoyan.
The procurement process for tomatoes began in the republic on August 3 of this year. Already, 4,700 tons of tomatoes have been procured, with the largest volume, 1,800 tons, being processed by ‘Artashat Canning Factory’ LLC.
‘Artashat Canning Factory’ LLC is one of Armenia's largest companies in the food industry. It is a continuously developing and expanding company, now capable of producing 40 million canned goods annually, with increasing production volumes each year.
