Police Uncover Illegal Business Operation: Large Quantity of Counterfeit Alcohol Seized
The community police department of Bazum received operational information indicating that a 19-year-old resident of Vanadzor was collecting counterfeit alcohol from a garage near one of the buildings on Agayan Street in Vanadzor. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), as a result of further actions, the community police arrested the young man on the afternoon of July 30 on Agayan Street. His vehicle has been sealed and stored in a designated area, while the individual has been presented to the Lori regional investigative department.
Simultaneously, police established surveillance near the garages from which the young man was reportedly collecting the counterfeit alcohol.
A criminal case has been initiated, and over the next two days, searches were conducted in the garages, resulting in the discovery of 3,130 bottles of various types of shelf-stable alcohol, empty alcohol bottles, numerous labels and caps, as well as large containers filled with liquid resembling alcohol and other paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing,” the MIA reported.
