Players of Masis Football Club Engaged in Fixed Match; Criminal Case Launched
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, a criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department of the Shengavit police based on Article 201, Part 2 (Bribery of participants and organizers of professional sports competitions and public competitions) and Article 214, Part 1 (Abuse of authority by employees of commercial or other organizations) of the RA Criminal Code. The case was opened on September 17.
As reported by G. Shamshyan, operational data were received by the police indicating that the players of the Masis Football Club, in preliminary agreement, predetermined the outcome of the match, which was advantageous for them, and bets were placed accordingly. As a result, the bookmaker company VivaroBet sustained a loss of approximately 1.5 million drams.
An investigation is underway regarding the incident.
