Customs Procedures for Electronic Trade Goods to be Simplified in EAEU
The specialized working group of the Advisory Committee on Customs Regulation under the Eurasian Economic Commission has discussed proposals for relevant changes during its recent meeting. The proposed innovations include two main directions.
The first is the automation of customs control. It is proposed that encoded information related to restrictions and limitations be included in the declarations of express cargo and electronic trade goods. This will enable the automation of document verification and significantly speed up customs processes in the long run, as well as reduce delivery times.
The second concern is the export of electronic trade goods. It is suggested to apply a simplified declaration form for exported goods if they are purchased by foreign individuals from EAEU countries' marketplaces and online platforms. This change aims to facilitate access to international markets for local sellers.
