Alen Simonian, appointed as the Secretary of the Security Council, discussed his new role in an interview with Factor TV. "We are a team; it is a team decision, and there has been a discussion," said Simonian, expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for making such a decision.

He noted that the appointment decree was signed just minutes ago, and he would talk about the details of his work later.

Reflecting on the new parliament's work, Simonian positively assessed the opposition's return to the political process. "I believe we have a very interesting National Assembly, very active. It is good that the opposition has started to work, returned, and become part of the political processes. I think this will benefit our country, as both sides, both the government and the opposition, work together. I assess Mr. Rubinyan's role very positively," Simonian stated.

According to him, the parliament formed in 2021 was post-war, which led to scandals and clashes, while the current one has been created as a 'parliament of a peaceful country.'

On the issue of normalizing relations with Russia, Simonian responded that there was no talk of any special mandate. "We have never aimed to worsen relations with any country, nor will we. Specifically, with the Russian Federation. I hope I can contribute a little, and that the relations will improve even further," said the newly appointed Secretary of the Security Council.
