VIDEO. Who are you to decide how others should live? Levon Kocharyan to Pashinyan

Levon Kocharyan, a member of the Armenia parliamentary faction, has responded to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement that Gagik Tsarukyan, former President Robert Kocharyan, and others should live with the hope of retirement.

“Who are you to decide how someone should live, what should be taken from whom, and what should not?” the MP said, emphasizing that this fits into the pattern of establishing and deepening an authoritarian system.

According to him, a law on the confiscation of property has been adopted, legal proceedings are ongoing, and it is the court that should decide the outcomes. Therefore, it is unacceptable for the country's leader to announce how others should live.

Touching upon the condition of family members, Levon Kocharyan informed that former President Robert Kocharyan is alone in his cell and that he visited him on August 31, his birthday. He reported that his father underwent heart surgery about 20 days ago, after which he was supposed to be under supervision for a month. However, this protocol has been violated, leading to certain complications, although his overall condition is normal.

The MP also added that Robert Kocharyan can receive visits from close relatives, while his brother, Sedrak Kocharyan, can only be visited by his wife and children.
