Presence of the 102nd Military Base in Armenia is Not a Vital Necessity: Pashinyan

There has been no discussion regarding the presence of the Russian military base stationed in Armenia during President Vladimir Putin's talks. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement today after a government meeting, commenting on the outcomes of his meeting with Putin in Bishkek.

“We have not raised the issue of the Russian 102nd military base in Armenia at any point, but it is also not the case that we consider the presence of the 102nd base in Armenian territory a vital necessity,” Pashinyan stated.

According to him, if Russia decides to withdraw the military base from the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian authorities will not object. “If they express a desire to stay, we are also ready to discuss that, but we have never raised this issue during this period,” assured the Prime Minister.
