Strong Armenia Takes EU Integration Committee: 12 Permanent Committees Distributed in National Assembly

In the 9th convocation of the National Assembly, the positions of the chairpersons of the 12 permanent committees will be distributed among the factions. According to the proposed distribution, the "Civil Contract" faction will nominate the chairpersons of 8 committees, "Strong Armenia" will nominate 3, and "Armenia" will nominate 1.

For the positions of deputy chairpersons of the permanent committees, the distribution is as follows: 7 for the Civil Contract, 4 for Strong Armenia, and 1 for the Armenia faction.

The Civil Contract has presented representatives of its leadership for several committee chair positions. Arusyak Manavazyan outlined the committees led by the Civil Contract faction:

• Permanent Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs
• Permanent Committee on State and Legal Affairs
• Permanent Committee on Foreign Relations
• Permanent Committee on Economic Affairs
• Permanent Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sports
• Permanent Committee on Healthcare, Motherhood and Childhood

The Civil Contract will also retain leadership of the Permanent Committees on Labor and Social Issues, as well as on Eurasian Integration.

Narek Karapetyan presented the committees led by the Strong Armenia faction, which include:

• Permanent Committee on Financial and Budgetary Issues
• Permanent Committee on Territorial Administration and Local Self-Government
• Permanent Committee on Agricultural and Environmental Issues
• Permanent Committee on Agricultural and Environmental Protection

Strong Armenia will oversee the Permanent Committee on European Integration.

The Armenia faction will oversee the Permanent Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Issues. In total, out of the 12 committees, 8 will be chaired by the Civil Contract, 3 by Strong Armenia, and 1 by the Armenia faction.
