Kapani 'Syunik' Airport to Achieve International Status: Pashinyan
Kapani 'Syunik' Airport has significant potential to operate international flights. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan while presenting the electoral program of the ruling 'Civil Contract' party.
"We must give Kapani 'Syunik' Airport the status of an international airport, and this process has already begun. Of course, 'Syunik' Airport is currently capable of accepting certain sizes of aircraft, and if necessary, work will be carried out to increase the runway's capacity to allow for larger aircraft to land. Our calculations indicate that 'Syunik' Airport has considerable potential for operating international flights," Pashinyan noted.
It is worth mentioning that flights are currently being carried out from Kapani 'Syunik' Airport to Yerevan and vice versa.
