Former Artsakh Defense Army Commander Levon Mnatsakanyan Denies Baku's Accusations
The trial concerning the former military-political leaders of Artsakh and other captives continued today at the Baku court. Azerbaijani media report that today the final speeches of the Armenian captives were heard, during which former Artsakh Defense Army commander Levon Mnatsakanyan also declared himself not guilty.
Mnatsakanyan stated that although he is accused in Baku of planning the April Four-Day War, the actions of the Armenian side were purely defensive. The former commander asserted that the Defense Army never targeted civilian infrastructure.
Regarding his participation in the initial battles of Artsakh, Mnatsakanyan emphasized that he did not partake in the operations in Tunnel and Bashlibel, which Baku accuses him of. It is noted that the “court hearings” regarding the Armenian captives in Baku will continue on December 25.
