Azerbaijan May Start Gas Supplies to Ukraine
The national energy regulators of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine have approved the 2nd and 3rd new routes, strengthening regional connectivity and supply security. The developed routes with the participation of ICGB (Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector Operator) allow for gas supplies via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which transports gas from Azerbaijan to Greece, Albania, and Italy.
Starting from December 22, the routes will be available on the Regional Booking Platform (RBP), where ICGB is offering a 46% discount on its standard monthly fee to encourage usage.
“This is the result of systematic management and technical work in close collaboration with the operators of the countries along the vertical gas corridor axis and the European Commission. ICGB has played a leading role in the development and implementation of new products with a clear objective: to ensure flexible, reliable, and diversified gas access for the region and, in particular, to support Ukraine at a crucial moment,” said ICGB Executive Directors Georgi Satlavas and Teodora Georgieva.
