Tensions Rise in Syria: Armenian Foreign Ministry on Local Citizens
There are currently no Armenian citizens among those affected by the unfolding events in Syria. This was stated by Ani Badalyan, spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.
“Based on the information available at this time, there are no Armenian citizens among the casualties,” the ministry noted.
Earlier, reports indicated that pro-Turkish terrorist groups had launched an attack on the positions of the Syrian army and allied forces in the Aleppo area. During the assault, the militants managed to seize several villages and approach the administrative center of the region.
The Syrian army has responded to the attack. The terrorists have suffered significant losses in terms of personnel and equipment.
Today, during the assault, the attackers blocked the road between Damascus and Aleppo, resulting in approximately 200 reported deaths, according to observers.
