If the Passport Expires, it Cannot Be Extended Under Any Circumstances
The director of the Migration and Citizenship Law Office, Mnatsakan Bichakhchyan, informs that:
"Although legislative changes have been implemented for a long time, there are still individuals who are unaware of them:
- If the passport expires, it cannot be extended under any circumstances; you must apply for a passport exchange.
- If your passport has expired, no penalties apply regardless of when you apply for the exchange.
- If a citizen of Armenia has acquired citizenship of another country, there is no obligation to inform the competent authority of Armenia (with the exception of certain categories of individuals who are prohibited from holding positions if they have citizenship of another state).
- If you are changing your place of residence and wish to register at your new location, you do not need to present yourself at the previous residence to deregister; you will automatically be removed from your previous address upon registering at the new one."
