Names of the Deceased in the Disaster Area Revealed
Due to heavy rainfall, incidents have occurred in the Lori and Tavush regions resulting from the overflowing of the Debed, Agstev, and Tashir rivers. Updated information regarding these events has been provided.
As of 7:30 AM on May 27, rescue operations have resumed. A total of 75 rescuers, 13 firefighting teams, and 3 operational groups have been dispatched to the scene from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to operational reports, search and rescue and urgent emergency recovery operations are continuing, resulting in the rescue and evacuation of 429 people from various communities in Lori and Tavush regions. Specifically, 387 individuals were rescued in Lori, and 42 in Tavush.
Four bodies have been found at the disaster site, identified as: Avag Avagyan (born in 1948), Saribek Balayan (born in 1985), Gnel Zakaryan (born in 1964), and Gagik Nazlukhanyan (born in 1964).
Currently, efforts are being made to evacuate residents from the Sanahin railway station, drain flooded buildings, and extract a blocked truck in the village of Hagpat.
It is worth mentioning that the emergency call number 911 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been designated as a hotline for receiving necessary and urgent information.
