I Am Shocked That Yevgeny Prigozhin Was 'The Guy Who Served Me Food': George W. Bush
The 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush, who served from 2001 to 2009, expressed surprise upon learning that he had personally met Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner Group. This was reported by Business Insider.
Bush made these comments at the Yalta European Strategy Conference. When asked whether he was shocked by the news of Prigozhin's death in a plane crash in Tver region, Bush responded, “No, what shocked me was that I saw a photo from the G8 summit in Saint Petersburg recently, where he was the guy who served me food.”
Bush referred to Prigozhin as Russian President Vladimir Putin's 'chef' and noted that he was present in the photo taken in 2006 in Saint Petersburg. He added that he does not recall personally meeting Prigozhin, stating, “I only know that I’m still alive.”
Yevgeny Prigozhin served as a waiter for George W. Bush and his wife, Laura Bush, during a dinner with Vladimir Putin on July 14, 2006. Prigozhin reportedly served drinks to Bush during that occasion.
