VIDEO: Sargis Stepanyan – World Arm Wrestling Champion
Multiple European and world champion in arm wrestling, Sergeant Major Sargis Stepanyan has won a gold medal at the 2023 World Arm Wrestling Championship. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian Federation of Disabled Sports.
He competed in the 80 kg weight category and achieved victory with his left hand against Georgian Lasha Mikava.
The representative from Georgia secured the silver medal, while the bronze went to an athlete from Ukraine.
It is noteworthy that the 25th World Championship was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Armenian team participated in the competitions with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia and various benefactors.
The championship started on August 25 and will run until September 3.
