Health Committee Chairperson Lusine Badalyan: It Is Not Required to Be a Pulmonologist
In an interview with journalists, the newly elected chairperson of the National Assembly's Health Committee, Lusine Badalyan, responded to observations that she lacks professional knowledge in the healthcare sector. She stated, “Am I supposed to be an endocrinologist or a pulmonologist? The chairperson of the Health Committee coordinates the work of the committee members and organizes meetings, and for this, for example, there is no necessity to be a pulmonologist.”
Badalyan also addressed the issue of elderly individuals being forcibly detained. “By my nature, regardless of whether we are talking about opposition members or even those who have hurt me, I find such situations heavy to bear,” she noted, adding that she does not want to interfere with the activities of law enforcement agencies, but will speak out critically when necessary.
