“We are here to remove your power” – Marianna Ghahramanyan to the CPP
During a discussion on the election of the heads of permanent committees in the National Assembly, Marianna Ghahramanyan, a member of the "Strong Armenia" group, stated that their political force has come to the parliament as an opposition and does not intend to bear the responsibility for the policies pursued by the ruling Civil Contract Party (CPP).
“The ‘Strong Armenia’ has come to the parliament as an opposition; in no way, in no sense, under no circumstances will it bear the responsibility for the policies of the CPP government,” Ghahramanyan said.
She emphasized that their position regarding the legitimacy of the CPP's authority has not changed. “Our position regarding the legitimacy deficit of your power remains unchanged, and our agenda remains unchanged. We are here to implement significant changes, which are specifically about your removal from power,” Ghahramanyan declared.
In turn, Liana Manukyan, a candidate for the chair of the National Assembly’s Financial and Budgetary Committee, noted that the committee is one of the key committees of the parliament, and in many democratic countries, the leadership of such committees is entrusted to the opposition to ensure effective and transparent parliamentary oversight.
