Shame, Very Shame: Papoyan-Shushanyan Dispute Heats Up
Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan has responded harshly on his Facebook page to Lilia Shushanyan, a member of the 'Strong Armenia' faction, following her earlier statements.
“The Kaluga oligarch, number 18 on the former 'next Prime Minister' list, from whom the oligarch, according to reports, has taken away the mandate due to lack of confidence, has decided to address me. It would be shameful to respond to this persona, but it is shame, very shame, otherwise I would have responded,” wrote Papoyan.
The minister also addressed Shushanyan's stance on the additional taxation of the mining industry, asserting that she had previously opposed it but later changed her position.
Earlier, Lilia Shushanyan had responded to Papoyan, stating that she had worked in the government under four prime ministers starting from Tigran Sargsyan, on the condition of not engaging in political and party activities.
Shushanyan also clarified her position on the taxation of the mining industry, indicating that she had supported the collection of additional payments from mines, provided they were established in the form of a tax. “Months after my departure, the government adopted the same tax regulation, citing the same justifications I had previously raised,” wrote Shushanyan.
