Six People Drowned in Armenia's Reservoirs: All Incidents in Private Beaches
During the first half of 2026, four drowning cases were recorded in Armenia's reservoirs, resulting in the deaths of six individuals. This was announced during a press conference on August 21 by Aram Ghazaryan, Director of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Rescue Service.
According to him, there have been no drowning incidents reported at public beaches; all four cases occurred at private beaches.
Continuous monitoring has been organized at three public beaches on Lake Sevan, which will remain in effect until September 10. The Rescue Service is also regularly conducting awareness-raising activities.
