New Insurance Premium Scheme Proposed for Employees Earning Less than 200,000 Dram
The Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan has discussed with employers the preliminary project to include employees earning less than 200,000 dram in the health insurance system.
According to the proposal, starting in 2027, the monthly insurance premium will be divided among three parties: the employee will contribute 2,000 dram each month, the government will subsidize 4,400 dram, and the employer will also pay 4,400 dram. Thus, the total monthly insurance premium for one employee will amount to 10,800 dram.
The Ministry of Health states that the aim of this mechanism is to prevent a sharp increase in financial burdens resulting from the implementation of insurance for those earning up to 200,000 dram.
During the meeting, accountants and financial representatives of companies presented questions and proposals. The ministry emphasizes that the project is still in the discussion phase, and such meetings will continue until the complete implementation of the system.
