“He is a human, he doesn’t know what to do”: Papoian on Samvel Karapetian’s teammate

Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoian has addressed the statements made by a teammate of Samvel Karapetian regarding the SME sector on his Facebook page.

“One of the former 'next prime minister' Samvel Karapetian’s associates, who has been nominated for the chair of the Financial and Budget Committee in the National Assembly, was talking about some decreases concerning SMEs. Let’s set aside the fact that he was mostly saying incorrect things. It’s nothing. Now he is a human, he doesn’t know what to do,” wrote Papoian.

The minister also presented statistical data, noting that the number of active economic entities increased by 2.2 times between 2018 and 2026. According to Papoian, on January 1, 2018, there were 45,525 active economic entities in Armenia, while by January 1, 2026, this number had reached 99,903.
