Anti-Drone Systems to be Deployed Near Turkey's Border

Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias, accompanied by Chief of General Staff, conducted an inspection visit to military bases and naval facilities in the Aegean Sea and the islands adjacent to Crete. According to ermenihaber.am, radio-electronic warfare (REW) and anti-drone systems are being deployed in the border islands near Turkey and along the Maritsa (Evros) River.

As reported by the Greek newspaper 'Kathimerini', the main goal of this visit is to upgrade the security of military infrastructure, control systems, and military bases. This is implemented within the framework of Greece’s multi-layer air defense (AD) program, named the 'Achilles Shield'.

The project also includes the deployment of systems to counter unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and electronic warfare capabilities on frontline islands near Turkey.
